Compiling MusE with Steinberg VST SDK
Posted by: bestonne - 04-17-2016, 01:50 PM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (1)

Hi everyone

Trying to compile Muse with the original VST SDK by Steinberg, i get an error.
Searching in the depth of the internet will nor really help.

When executing make, near by the end comes the following:

/usr/src/muse-2.2.1/muse/vst_native.cpp: In function ‘VstIntPtr MusECore::vstNativeHostCallback(AEffect*, VstInt32, VstInt32, VstIntPtr, void*, float)’:
/usr/src/muse-2.2.1/muse/vst_native.cpp:215:18: error: ‘audioMasterGetSpeakerArrangement’ was not declared in this scope
            case audioMasterGetSpeakerArrangement:
/usr/src/muse-2.2.1/muse/vst_native.cpp:219:18: error: ‘audioMasterPinConnected’ was not declared in this scope
            case audioMasterPinConnected:
/usr/src/muse-2.2.1/muse/vst_native.cpp:229:18: error: ‘audioMasterWantMidi’ was not declared in this scope
            case audioMasterWantMidi:

and so on with a lot of audioMaster*-vars

any hint?

Thanks in advance : bes

  copy parts
Posted by: Menno - 03-25-2016, 04:20 PM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (4)

Hi Robert,

i have a VST instrument and a midi track that contains a part with CC information to control the knobs of that VST.
This works.

Then i copy this part, put it after the old one and run.
The old part moves the knobs of the VST, the new one does not.
Shouldn't a copy of a part do exactly the same thing as the original one?

LV2 GTK2 ui support is not available
Posted by: jgiles10014 - 03-25-2016, 02:46 AM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (1)

Hello There:

I am new to muse, and it's been a while since I've compiled code.

I am trying to run muse 2.2.1 on a Raspberry Pi with Raspbian Jesse as an OS, and I was able to get muse to compile with only a few warnings. I installed it without too much trouble, but when I run it I get this error:

LV2 GTK2 ui support is not available

and then the GUI crashes.  I've found one reference on the mailing list, about recompiling lv2Gtk2Helper, which I did try with an error "make: Nothing to be done for 'all'."  I am not sure how to fix it, and hopefully someone here might be able to give me a clue.  Thanks!

I've just started learning how to use MusE and I noticed that the tempo can vary during a bar. Why is this and how do I stop it?

Export to wav or mp3 the entire session midi+audio
Posted by: maxlinux2000 - 02-01-2016, 10:20 AM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (1)

Hello everyone, I am new to Muse.
Many years ago, I used Cubase Atari 1040ST, but the years pass and the machines break, reaching the moment of updating itself.
So I'm walking around with various open source programs running under ubuntu 14.04.
I really like Muse, and is easy to use, but I'm looking for a way to export in wav format (or mp3) an entire session of midi + audio.
There any way to do it easily?

Hi, for the moment I've found the utility jack_capture_gui, from terminal ... and I can export in wav all I can hear from the output.

This is enough for me, but if there is another way, please help me. tnx

Forum unable to log in, and other issues - FIXED, almost
Posted by: spamatica - 01-28-2016, 09:20 PM - Forum: Getting Help - No Replies

The mail response is now working so it should be possible to create new accounts.

Though, since I can't test everybody's account I have to assume the password are still scrambled, the good news is that you should be able to request a new password if you remember which e-mail account you registered with.

Hello everybody,

the forum has really not been working well for the last year or so.
As of this moment there may be trouble logging in for current accounts, and worse, creating new accounts is severely crippled since the outgoing mail is not working.

We are working to fix this, in the meantime, if you need help with MusE, please try the lmuse-user mailinglist

  VST connections lost after re-opening
Posted by: Menno - 01-23-2016, 04:33 PM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (7)

we have encountered a problem that we hope can be resolved.
A VST instrument (dll, using Wine) is connected to a midi track and via a USB midi controller the midi controller data is being recorded. Buttons on the VST are moving as it should and it all sounds great and works all right. So we save the song.

Problem occurs after re-opening the song: it takes a while before the med file is loaded. The med file is 1.2M and should contain all midi controller data and all the assigned connection data to the VST buttons.
But all the connections to and from the VST instrument are lost, the song is NOT in the state it was when we saved it. We have to make the connections to the VST buttons all over again. We think this is a bug?

I could not attach the med file for you to try out, because of its size. So i have made it available here: http://members.home.nl/mag.knevel/cheese...ntrols.med

  error starting Muse?
Posted by: Menno - 11-15-2015, 11:15 AM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (8)

we are trying to connect 2 computers, one running Csound and the other running Muse. Syncing will be done with JackTransport.: Csound sends the jacktransport code and Muse on the other machine is the slave.

We have chosen Muse because there is a nice button, called "Jack" in the transport window of Muse, so it is easy to disconnect from the master (Csound) and do things independently. Later you can connect back in with this "Jack" button.

Since a few weeks i am not capable to start Muse anymore on the slave machine. On the master machine, with the same system running, Muse works. There is no error shown, it just stops and hangs:

Config File </home/menno/.config/MusE/MusE.cfg>

Trying ALSA timer...

I have removed the dll VST and completely remove Muse, reinstall it etc. but this does not help.

My system is: AMD, LinuxMint17.2, KXStudio

What can i do to trap the error?

Question Muse vs. ZynAddSubFX
Posted by: bestonne - 11-07-2015, 07:42 PM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (1)

Hi everybody from Germany

I hope this is the right place for my first question. I'm working here with a self compiled Muse 2.2.1 and a self compiled ZynAddSubFX 2.5.1 on an Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. It is now possible to add Zyn as an DSSI-Plugin. But it is not possible to open the native GUI from the context-menu. What do you think? Is it a problem of Muse or of Zyn?

What i see is, when starting Muse from the shell, the following Messages:

Lv2Gtk2Helper: dlerror = (null)
Lv2Gtk2Helper: dlerror (libgtk-x11-2.0.so) = (null)
Lv2Gtk2Helper: dlerror (libgtkmm-2.4.so) = (null)

Any idea

Thanks in advance : bes
