1) Route all midi input from keyboards into Muse without having to set anything up. I've been here for 30 minutes now trying to get my keyboard working!

2) Please put some midi activity indicators on each track.

Thanks

Using Muse and Ardour with midi files
Posted by: leokn - 04-25-2014, 05:57 AM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (5)

I'm a newbie to KXStudio trying to get Muse to import a set of midi files from tracks I have in Ardour
and then route them to my soundcard (so I can hear them) and back to Ardour so I can edit them (individually).
I am not using midi hardware, just files I found on the internet.

Here is a screenshot of where I am so far and I can't hear these files play when I hit Ardour's transport button.
The mixer strips in Ardour show that the files are in fact playing (and I can play them all alone in Muse and hear them
if I import them into Muse).

Screenshot of my setup how it shows in Ladish so far...

and here it is in Muse (it doesn't show the files in Muse program, even though it is indicated by the Ladish diagram that it is (I don't know what to do from this point on)...

  MIDI-Port-Konfig and Instrumentsettings
Posted by: bassemolufda - 04-15-2014, 04:38 PM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (1)

Hi there,

i want set the Instrument to Yamaha MU-100R. But i dont see this Device in the List.
I have a Devicelist for Cubase. Can i import this? And how do i use this?

I have probably a configuration problem. Always I have to manually adjust the MIDI configuration.
If you can not set start bein permanently setting the MIDI devices and instrument name?

Thank you for the support

Marker to stop Muse playing automatically
Posted by: bernardvictor - 03-03-2014, 06:51 PM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (1)

Hello

Is it possible to make Muse stop playing the midi file when I put a marker somewhere?
This would be really helpfull since I use the sequencer as an acompaniement for the piano. Sometimes, the acompaniement has to stop, and at that time I have to continue to play piano.

Thank you

Victor

  No Sound
Posted by: ltngstlkr - 02-03-2014, 05:26 AM - Forum: Getting Help - No Replies

Quote:Does anyone know how to get the MIDI output to route to the sound card's builtin synth?

What I'm trying to do is condense a 13 track MIDI into a single track for output to a keyboard.

Thanks

Hi man!
very sorry for the delay, the notifier for this forum isn't really working Undecided

As for you question, I suppose you really mean the sound cards midi output?

Very few recent cards have a built in synth. Back in the day when soundblaster live etc the synth appeared in the list of midi devices from ALSA.
These devices required that you loaded a soundfont on the device though.

As for the midi port on the sound card it should also appear as an ALSA device.
Do notice that MusE defaults to using only jack midi-devices, jack can show the midi devices but doesn't by default.
MusE can show ALSA devices directly if you start MusE with the -A flag.

Let me know if that helps,
Robert

  Linux and Akai LPK25
Posted by: slart1bartfast - 01-29-2014, 09:05 AM - Forum: Getting Help - Replies (10)

I'm fairly new to Muse so a novice error is a possibility.

I am using Fedora Jam (64 bit) and it is latest version.
Have un-installed and reinstalled Muse. Now on version version 2.1.2.

Jack is installed and functioning when I sue Hydrogen drum program.

I have followed the tutorial and managed to get sound out of Muse using the Vam soft synth using the mouse pointer on the keys.

I can not see anywhere where I can select the Akai LPK25.

With RoseGarden I can see the input meter moving as I tap the keyboard and and dots appear on the screen.
No sound comes out.
So I *think* that Linux has detected the keyboard and installed some drivers.

So I have sound generally, and something detect the keyboard.
Any suggestions?

Seen mention of portaudio and portmidi somewhere. These are installed.

Thanks in advance for any pointers, even if it is to the howto page I havn'e spotted yet.
